LSST Software Release Management

Abstract

This document describes the processes that LSST Data Management will adopt for managing releases of the LSST Science Pipelines software in order to meet the current and future needs of the LSST science community. These processes should enable early adopters to effectively work with the LSST science piplines in developing user software for science exploitation and data challenges and contribute to the LSST software. We outline the processes needed in DM to meet these requirements.
